Lucy Barker

Lucy Barker is the author of The Other Side of Mrs Wood, published by 4^th Estate, the first draft of which was selected as runner-up for the Curtis Brown First Novel Prize.

A lifelong writer with a passion for women’s social history, Lucy’s stories take inspiration from the myriad of fascinating women she uncovered through research for her MA in Victorian Studies with Birkbeck College. Lucy lives in Bath with her husband, two children and the cat.

Her second novel will be published by 4^th Estate in spring 2026.
